"I realized that If I had to choose, I would rather have birds than airplanes."
-Charles Lindbergh shortly before his death
I believe that men admired the birds so much that they couldn't help but invent the airplane. My dad was a pilot in the Army Air Corps. After he retired from the Air Force he missed flying so much that he purchased a royal blue cloth-covered Fairchild. He and I loved that little plane and loved the experience of flying together. On sunny Saturdays, I would clean the interior while he did all the maintenance and preflight checks then we joined the birds in joyful flight. I am grateful to have had that birds-eye-view of my world.
